MAY AND JUNE 2023

Development and implementation of an application “app Resource Allocation”, to simulate hourly electricity generation using distributed renewable energy resources, based on a known demand. With this application it is possible to determine the appropriate size of each renewable plant depending on the target to be achieved (minimize energy exchange with the grid, minimize energy purchase costs, maximize profits from energy sales...)

In addition, during these months an RLC electronic load has been acquired, which will be used to simulate different consumption scenarios.

JULY 2023

Improvement of the graphical interface of the applications created, adding new functionality and graphs for a better understanding of the results generated. In the case of “Resource Allocation”, the visualization of the renewable energy generated has been improved.

During the month of July, a diesel generator was purchased and installed on the roof of the building to simulate the generation of a biogas plant. The unit is located next to the existing solar panels.

SEPTEMBER 2023

Integration of the generator set control panel in GEDERlab's control room.

  • Inverter PV solar panels.
  • Generating set control and command panel.
  • RLC electronic load.

All of these systems are being integrated in the system for the future scenario simulation of a microgrid connected to the grid.

Likewise, they have been corrected errors identified in the applications developed during the previous months.

OCTOBER 2023

Acquisition and installation of a general control panel for the visualization of all the installed renewable energy plants. This panel is pre-installed with the visualization and control systems of the future sources to be installed (wind and hydro).

On the other hand, the calculation and visualization of costs has been integrated into the resource allocation application.

This makes it possible to start working on the demand and generation forecasting application, with the corresponding resource allocation and costs ("unit commitment" application).

NOVEMBER 2023

The reliability section has been integrated into the "Resource Allocation" application. This makes it possible to simulate more realistic scenarios, since the possibility of generator or grid failures is considered. These faults are given by statistical expressions.

Errors detected in the application have been improved and corrected. This makes the application more intuitive for the user and the simulations are carried out at a lower computational cost.

DECEMBER 2023

Integration of the micro hydroelectric generator in the GEDERlab. During the month of December, the hydraulic installation of the upper and lower tanks, as well as the turbines and pumps, was carried out. This will allow tests to be carried out in the coming months that include this water resource.

There is a storage of 500 L in the upper tank and 500 L in the lower tank to simulate a closed water cycle. There are two turbines of 1.50kW each and two pumps of 0.60kW each. 3kW of turbining and 1.2kW of pumping are available.

On the other hand, work is being done on the development of an optimization system for renewable plants in the "Resource Allocation" application.

JANUARY 2024

The micro-hydraulic power plant has been integrated to the existing microgrid in GEDERlab. It is available:

  • PV generation
  • Generation of biogas (simulated by generator)
  • Hydro generation
  • Storage system using batteries
  • Grid connection

Work is underway to develop a system for optimizing distributed renewable resources.

FEBRUARY 2024

The integration of the available micro renewable power plants is being improved, as well as the correction of errors and improvements in the existing applications.

A vertical axis wind turbine has been acquired and installed on the roof of building 5E. The turbine will be integrated with the rest of the existing generators.

MARCH AND APRIL 2024

During the months of March and April, all the generators were integrated. As result, the system is now equipped with:

  • PV generation
  • Wind generation
  • Generation of biogas (simulated by generator)
  • Hydro generation
  • Storage system using batteries
  • Grid connection
  • Programmable load

All of them are being configured to be able to manage them remotely from the GEDERlab control center and perform the simulations required within the framework of the INASOLAR project.

MAY 2024

The graphic interface of the web page has been modified. The logos of the research group (GEDER) and the INASOLAR project itself have also been updated.

JUNE 2024

Support in the construction and construction management of the 700 kW PV plant in Aras de los Olmos.

JULY 2024

Project dissemination and advertising tasks are carried out. INASOLAR is of interest to the public television of the Valencian Community and produces a report on the project that is broadcast on the ‘Informatiu de migdia’.

SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER 2024

Progress is being made on the control system of the GEDERlab Energy Hub. The functionalities in the software applications are being increased, new screens are being created to represent the information, etc.

NOVEMBER

Different tasks are carried out to conclude the project. Among others, the screens representing the algorithm for optimizing the use of renewable sources and administrative tasks for the completion of the project are completed.
